Hello guys,
thought it would be best to start off by introducing myself before asking all kind of n00b questions so here goes.
My name is SubMan, aka Rob, and I am from the Netherlands. I bought a '89 Jeep Cherokee in may just before going on vacation. Only thing done to it so far is (pardon my rusty English) crankshaftseal? Going to pick it up tommorow and then start some extra work on it.
On a personal note; I am 39 years old, live with my girlfriend, have a 2 year old son and own my own business (as you might have guessed.. a Subway shop).
In feb me and 2 other guys are participating in the Carbagerun. It's a rally across Europe for 5 days. Rules are; car (1997 and before) can be worth no more then € 500. (approx $ 670,-). Pimping is allowed any way you like. Speed is not important, you simply can not win other than nicest car, most supportive team etc. The rally is for 5 days through Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and then back to Austria for the finish, roughly 2.000 km / 1250 mls.
After that drive home for another 1.000 km / 625 mls. It takes place in winter conditions so that requiers some extra care to our Cherokee as you might imagine.
I am here cause I allways wanted a Cherokee and this was the perfect reason to buy one. I'll probably ask loads of questions since I have no knowledge of the Jeep whatsoever but I am willing to learn.
If you have any question please ask.
Rob
1989 Jeep Cherokee. Bought it for € 400,- ( approx $ 530,-)
