newbie to jeeps
Got me a cherokee!
1986 Cherokee 2.5 5spd 230K
I found it the other day on craigslist. I know it may not be most people's first choice with the 4banger and all but the price was right. I came from the yota world so being used to 22r/22re's, the 4banger is just right. The truck has it's share of problems, but it's a project.
Door hinges ripped off.
No heat. Blower motor?
No 4wd. Actuator?
Run's but has Idle/timing issues. TPS?
There are a lot of cosmetic issues, but not really much rust. The truck came from Colorado a few years back and you can tell. I am used to working on rusty, midwest 4runners.
I paid $380 for it and drove it about 45 miles home. I like the 4banger so far. I hit 70mph on the way home without any vibrations or too much pedal. Would it have 4.10 gears? What axles? Not sure what the exact plans are yet. I am going the get it roadworthy and go from there.
