Hello all. New to the forum and Jeeps, just bought an 88 Cherokee project. It's a four door, 4.0 automatic with a rod knock. Already got an engine in the works for it. Also an avid Ham radio user.

Just discovered my new XJ has the 8.25 Chrysler rear end in it. Awesome.

Never mind it's a Dana 35. Seen a chart that had that cover on it, then found another that says its a 35. Actually zoomed in and seen the Dana stamp on it. Oops. Feel dumb now.

If you look on this chart it shows my dif cover as an 8.25. Wth. http://www.differentials.com/technic...Identification they do look similar.

Naw. The best way to tell is the 8.25 has a rolled lip around the outer edge. Yours is the d35.
