Hey I'm new to the jeeps. About a week ago I bought a 97 zj from a guy that said it's all time 4x4 but I was thinking that the all time 4x4 did not come in to play till about 99or 00 could some one help me figure out if mine is all time 4x4 or not I know it sounds stupid but I'm not really sure about this thank you .

To answer your Question jeep actually started building the Quadra trac grand Cherokee ZJ in 1993 they had other types also select trac and command trac depending on transfer case!

Thank you so how would I know what mine is it has on the 4x4 lever 4 wheel all time and 4 wheel low but when u move the lever then you can hear the front end kick in

If you have all time then you will have the Quadra trac. the basic dif. is the select trac has a 2wheel option. they quit using the command trac in 96

easiest way to tell is the transfer case shifter if there is no 2 wheel option its quadra trac.

Thank you for that I have not yet had time to look at it yet but I also have a few other little problems with it as well. When you move the driver seat (it's a power seat ) the head lights an tail lights flash off an on and when you turn the steering wheel the heater cuts off and on can someone help with that
