Default Newb from NC

What's up guys I found the forum searching for info on Jeep Cherokee's. I'm new here but not new to forums. Ill be in the market for a mid to full sized suv in a few months so I figured I'd get to looking on what I should get. The deal is I'll be trading or selling my 05 Kawasaki Zx10 for one. I figured If I went with a Jeep I want the 99-04 WJ as I like the looks the best. Would def preffer the grand cherokee limited as It just looks so smooth. I've found a few on craigslist for around 4k which is what im looking for as I want some extra cash to build a nice system, either 2 18's or 4 15's or 6 12's. The gear I run is sundown fi audio dd audio dc audio. On those lines youl never catch low end kicker jl rockford and the crap mainstream stuff in my ride. The jeep will be used as a driver only no off road. She will be used as my daily/spl vehicle. My current car is getting destroyed and I broke my trunk lid welds last season, so I need a bigger vehicle to toy with. I build custom boxes and systems as well as powder coating. I look forward to being here and learning what I can so I can end up with a good vehicle. Ill post up some pics to show a little work so u guys don't think im talkin out my ****. Also u can check out some vids on1wheel01 at youtube

This is just a few I didn't wanna clutter things up

While there is a wide assortment of info on cherokees on this site, the mass majority of it is on mechanics, suspension building and off-road ability. You will prob find a little info and interest on sound sytems and stuff like that on here but not much. But since you are asking opinions on which model to pick, I would tell you to go with an XJ. But that is solely based on there off-road capabilities, I could care less how many speakers I can fit in the back. All my spaces are filled up with trail riding gizmos and gadgets. But welcome to the forum and good luck on your vehicle search.

well if you wanna turn it into a sound machine. go right ahead and get a wj or zj. but dont blow yer money on a good xj just to rack it full of speakers. you could prolly get more space out of a zj or wj. and they arnt as loud and you wont be fixing them as much haha. and if you go zj get the I6 take the a/c out and put in a zj V8 alternator for more battery power.

Thanks guys. Yea the wj is the only option as I dont like the looks of the others. It will never and I repeat never go off road. Just not into that kinda thing thats what atv's and dirt bikes r for imo but not knockin those who do it. I don't really need any info on the audio part of the jeep im good on that, just surfing lookin for problems they have and what not.

Gotcha, well one thing I have heard a lot of is if you go with a grand cherokee pay special attention to the way it shifts. especialy the earlier models. They are prone for trans going bad. And just for the heck of it, if you get one that is 4 wheel drive, try it out just once and you'll be a fan for life!
