Just picked up a 89 XJ for 250.00! Figured Im on a bunch of other Jeep forums whats one more!

Im mostly from the JK world but this new project will change that.

Figured Id come hang out here a bit and talk some XJ talk.

Ive owned a few Jeeps in the past but new to the XJ world.

My XJ will be mostly for the trail but every now and than a daily driver.

I pick her up Wednesday..

Cracked Tranny
179K 4.0L Auto
Hasnt started in 2 years. Ran great before Tranny Cracked.
XJ is from TN. No Rust at all.
Some minor body damage, mostly just bumpers.

hey not to sound creepy but the day u transported this jeep did u go to Mc D's near Maple Ave in Lisle IL? I could have sworn i saw that XJ being trailered there recently. i was looking at it thinking that looks like a nice start of a great project.

Yes sir.. My buddy's shop is right there. thats where I got it from.

After digging into it a little more, its completely gutted interior wise.

The trans maybe good but transfer case is blown.. 4 inch whole in the side.

Picking up a trans and transfer case tonight with 75k on it for 350.00

I need a power steering pump, pulley, hoses..

few other hoses... AC will be ripped out.

Ripped off exhaust, that'll be replaced with a system. Sounds kinda good with no exhaust

I have a whole list of other parts I am trying to find, I'll post that up shortly.
