Hey all, back in the Cherokee scene - sorta
My name's Eric, just bought a 87 Cherokee for my GF. I'm XJless but a few years ago I had a 99 Cherokee Sport that my ex wife sold while I was deployed the first time
shoulda been my sign back then huh?
So she was looking for a new rig, cause she hated her Kia Optima, and it was between a Cherokee or Bronco, so I kinda put a little pressure on and she decided on this very nice XJ we picked up for $1500 today.
87 Cherokee
4.0
Automatic
30x9.5xr15
4" lift
150k on odo
That's all I know right now. Later on when I'm done de-rusting/painting the bull bar we got with it I'll go crawl under it and get some info on the trans/transfer and see if I can't figure out the axle ratio. Base model, but that's fine, less electrics to worry about (I'm a sucker for power windows though). Best thing, 2nd owner
felt bad though, the guy seemed like he was losing a child with all the stories. Also got a bunch of goodies in the deal, the bull bar, a lot of books, to include the dealer repair manual. Rear wiper motor and arm, an extra ps pump, extra engine harness, light switch, hub covers (don't goto the rims that came with it though) roof rack, and a mostly full tank of gas! (that never happens)
So going over it, gunna try to get this bumper on today. I'm sure I'll be doing some research later on, only problem, wiper motor doesn't work, he has two extra wiper delay modules that came with but I'll do some troubleshooting first.

I'll get some better pics later hopefully with the bull bar put on oh ya and 4 lights came with too. Get those mounted as well, prolly not wired today though.

So got that bull bar and the lights installed the other day. Haven't hooked them up, but I'm going to wait until I go get a nice rocker switch and some wire. I want to run it off of the fuse panel and install the rocker switch in the extra slot next to the defroster rocker, or trans power/comfort button so it looks nice and clean.
Next day or so I gotta figure out the wiper, no wipers in WA = bad juju. Rain X only helps at highway speeds.
