New here from Southern IL, so new I don't even have a cherokee.....yet.
I have a good samurai I would like to sell for something more family friendly.
What are some suggestions on the best cherokee specs? What years, engine, tranny, t-case is the best or worst to look out for?
Looking to run 31-33in. tires. something good offroad and on road.
Thanks for any input.

Welcome to the site. ANy cherokee is a good year to get, imo. 99-01 have head issues, but shouldn't be a deciding factor. Try to get one with 4x4 and the 231 because of aftermarket support. Don't get the 4 banger; has no power and not good for wheeling. For tranny, what do you prefer to drive? If you life to crawl i'd recommend the auto because it is easier. So much info to list. Good luck for your search for a cherokee.

I'm not in a hurry, still learning everything i can about these cherokees
I think it would be cheaper to find one already lifted, but Rusty's has some good deals on complete lift, wheel, tire packages.
