Hello all. I am in Montana with a 38 mile drive to the nearest pavement.
We have had 3 Cherokees in the past and somehow found ourselves without one this summer. Found a beater 90 on Craigslist and went back into the Cherokee business a couple of weeks back.
Ordered a new set of 31x11.5 Super Swampers that got here the other day. Time to start the new project!
Stock steel rims that are on it are 7" I am wondering if I need to find a set of 8" as are recomended for the tires, or should just mount them on the 7s and go on. I want to start with mounting the tires and then determine just how much lift I need for the rig. I don't want this one un-nessessarily high. Rear main is leaking,so it will get replaced at the same time I am lifting the front end. Then will come looking for a new driver's seat and fixing the terribly loose tilt wheel.
Any advise on rim selection would be appreciated, or if you have an old set of 8" spokers gathering dust and want to turn them into a bit of cash give me a yell. zim
