I finally got out of the European Car scene (first a BMW that started as a 4 cylinder automatic, then a turbo I6 M3 motor and 5 speed; sold that), then a 1.8t VW Jetta, built motor, 50 trim turbo, rather large FMIC, and lowered to a stupid height then I went lower . Put it on E85 before I sold it I just couldn't keep up with DD'ing a expensive German car, on rather low paying jobs and having military drills. Sold it just two weeks ago and I miss the darn thing... But hey I always wanted a Heep, erm Jeep!

99 that just clicked over 120,xxx (already put 1,800 miles on). As with everything I've owned, I broke it within 48 hours.. Cracked exhaust after the muffler, broke the hood cable somehow, headlights stopped, windows are doing what is "normal" by only working on driver side, turn signals stopped, also needs a few areas of rust removed (behind plastic caps in the rear and rear cargo floor pan)...

After doing every single fluid, bushing, joint, bushing, rust removal, and scoring a job I plan on going 4.5" up with probably 32's, fab up some bumpers, and pick up a blown 4.0 to build and drop in as I really want to cam one over and confuse people at lights.

Welcome from Wisconsin. Nice XJ, and I have always like VW's. Some day I'll own a R32. It doesn't really pay to pump up a jeep motor. Save your motor money, To buy another 4 banger. Because XJ get terrible gas mileage now, just being stock. As a daily driver, I can't see hopping it up. Just to beat someone across an intersection. JMO!

I like your username. My wife doesn't like mine. She says that it looks like a silver box, And she has a hard time getting into it. (it's at stock height)

91 limited: I've built a motor for everything I've driven lol! I'll see with this after its lifted . But yes, going from a motor that made on a good day, 100hp out of boost able to milk out 25mpg in the city. To well not even 15MPG SUCKS!

As for a R32, I wanted one, but after really pricing it out (a MKIV still catches above 15k around here) they are just not worth the change yet. If they drop, I will own it though. Just be prepaired, owning a VW consists of smelling crayons (not kidding) check engine lights for a unfixable problem, lowering it, a lot. With a VR6, expect to need 7 quarts of oil for a oil change... Yeah, its a lot for a 2.8 liter or 3.2 in a R. Oh annoying lug studs that are a pain in the rear. Wanting to put wheels never intended to fit on your car. The list never ends.

canman: YES the 'ville is just bad, add the fact we now are about to have a UPMC at one of the worst intersections in the state... No thanks, I hate this place!
