Default New Okie on the forum!

Hi, I guess I just got tired of watching the forum from the outside.
I've had my Jeep for a year and a half, I got it when I turned 16. Considering it's an XJ with a 4.0 and only 148k miles I should have it quite a while longer too.
So far it hasn't had and modifications, but within a month My dad and I are going to start on it.
Plans:
-Rough Country 3" w/ leaf packs
-Maybe 1" coil spacer and shackle too
-JCR Offroad Stage 2 front bumper
-31x10.50R15 Grabber AT2's OR 33x12.50R15 Grabber AT2's w/ cut fenders & TJ flares
-If 33's, then gears (Don't know which ratio. 4.10's for a DD?)

Oh, almost forgot. My dad just bought a 1995 ZJ for $1200. He was able to talk the stealership down from $2400 because it died a lot. We put a new idle control valve ($32) in, and it runs great now. But vibrations started. The CV Joint(?) on the front driveshaft is trashed. We have to put a new driveshaft on tomorrow, because you can't replace just that joint. Why can't it just be U-Joints like the XJ. I am jealous of the 5.2 V8 and factory 3.73's though, but not the Turdy-five. I think he's planning on a Rough Country 4.5" Long-Arm lift.

My XJ's name, Lando , is from a western novel, of the same name, by Louis L'Amour if anyone was curious. The character, Orlando Sackett, was stubborn as heck, tough as all get out, and not one to tangle with. I thought the name was fitting.

Nice family of jeeps, sounds like my family.

If that zj is green it looks just like my moms' '93 when we got it in '96 (she still has it and now modded some). Is that a modified zj is the background of your dads zj?

Nice pic with your xj, looks nice and you've already got some tj wheels. I'm thinking 4.56 gears would be better for a dd, but i'm no expert so don't hold me to it.

Welcome from Edmond.

If you see a black 2 door XJ with a large CB whip antenna honk....give me a wave....flip me off....whatever.

Nice looking ride you have..

Thanks! Yes it's a modded zj. The owner bought it like that. But she says it has a 4.5" lift, ARB air lockers, it has a Warn bumper and winch, rock sliders, roof rack, 8 extra lights, 32" MT's, and a 5.9 swapped in. She is shipping it to Pennsylvania, I think, while she's stationed in Korea, so I won't get to see it anymore.

Nice to have a neighbor like that, not a one jeep in my neighborhood (other than ours of course).

Nice looking pair of Jeeps. Regarding your dad's ZJ, since he has to replace the front driveshaft anyway and wants to lift it too, I'd consider replacing that CV type shaft with a regular u-joint shaft and axle yoke, as ZJ's came with both types. Those CV type shafts don't last too long on lifted vehicles.

He says it will take too long to find the parts and he wants to drive it tomorrow, since the ac went out in his mustang. He says he'll do the non-cv driveshaft later when he swaps the quadratrac t-case for a np231.
