New XJ Owner from FL
Hello everyone,
My name is Chris and I recently got my first XJ. I am an Army Infantry Veteran with one tour to Iraq in 05-06, a current criminal justice student, and reside in St. Petersburg Florida. I consider myself to be a "recreational gear head," meaning that I enjoy doing light to mild restorations and mods to my vehicles. I am coming over from the camaro/firebird scene. I spent a lot of time on LS1Tech.com, so I am familiar with the forum world.
I had a 1997 SS Camaro, which I loved! However, with a girlfriend and two very active dogs, the camaro was simply not practical anymore. I did my research and decided on an XJ. I traded the Camaro for this 2000 Cherokee, 4 door, 6 cyl, auto, 4wd, with 108,000 miles on the clock, and a 3" lift. It has a dealer optioned sunroof, and is an all around straight little XJ. It does need a general tune up (as I do that to any vehicle i get), the rear bearings replaced, and a new headliner (which i understand are very common issues).
Future plans include: window tint, set of jeep rims (Ravines, Moabs ect), exterior reconditioning, sound system upgrade, and maybe aftermarket bumpers and roof rack.
I look forward to browsing the site and learning a little more about the XJ and 4wd scene.
