nice ride.. i have an inquiry for you if you dont mind,
just registered for this site a min ago and would need some advice on buying a 1988 jeep 4*4 and has 168k mileage and selling for $2100. it also has a clean title and looks clean more than likely a single owner. It runs good and smooth but i dont know what else to look for when considering to buy a jeep. I took a mechanic with me and went for a test drive but all he said is he would get it if he was me but he didnt seem to do anything extensive or different than a lay man like me would do when buying a car.
-what questions should i ask?
-what should i check for?
-does that price seem fitting? Im a college student so price is a major factor for me not just being stingy for something worth what is being asked for
thanks for your input in advance

Welcome to the site
^^^^^^^^
To the poster above. First the mileage for the 1998 is almost average, I have 155,xxx on mine, you are gonna wanna check for rust first off. And not just looking feel it too to see if there is just foam. Common places to look would be floor panels, cargo area floor, wheel wells and rocker panels. You are gonna wanna check to coolant container to see how that looks, definitely check underneath to see if the springs are sagging and check to see how rusty it may look under there. Pictures will definitely help and you probably want to post this in Cherokee chat or somewhere else so more people review it
