Just bought my first jeep! 97 sport 4x4, got some rust, needs a little tlc but 4 wheel and motor run really good.
any info on the 97s would be helpful not even sure what years are interchangable as far as parts lol.
I was told the 4.0 was a good motor and you can get some miles out of them.

Welcome, 87-01 xjs are very similar, but there are differences, so lots of parts are interchangeable, but best to ask first someone on here should be able to help. 97 is a good year 97-01 models are the newer style and 84-96 are the older style with 4.0L available from87-01. 87-90 are renix injected which is different from your 97. Don't forget to post a pic.
