Trading an MDX for a Cherokee Limited tomorrow, and thought it wise to join a community where I can learn the ropes. Always wanted a Jeep, and I hope I picked a good one.
Thanks!
Thanks!

2001. Limited. 4x4. Stock.
No budget to do much other than fix whatever breaks first, but I'm expecting to have a great time with it nonetheless.
Thanks for the welcome.

They do say the 0331 heads on 00-01 crack quicker if overheated (not vulnerable just more likely I think) and you got a low pinion d30 axle up front should be good for a lift kit though. The limited is a nice trim.

Thanks for the welcomes.
Got it yesterday. So far: A/C needed charging, misfire on #3, driver side heated seat doesn't work (HI light flashes), and there are two different constant noises from the front end.
Didn't check the A/C, or the heated seats during inspection since it was cold here yesterday. Just didn't think about it. Noises from the front end weren't noticed on the test drive. I'd never actually driven a Cherokee before, and it was noisier in general and I didn't notice. The dealer fixed the A/C and the misfire.
The misfire was attributed to carbon build up on the valves. The solution was to suck a can of "top-end" engine cleaning into the intake, shut the car off and set it sit for a while, then fire it up, watch the plumes of smoke, drive the snot out of it, and all seems well. I'm supposed to make sure to get the RPM's up to 4k each month to keep the carbon from building up like that again.
Now, on the tech section for the front end noises.
I really want to love this Jeep. At least it's not likely to be as expensive as the Acura I traded for it was.
