New To Jeeps and CF!
Hello everyone!
My name is Garrett D. and i just bought my first jeep cherokee! I started my search for a 4x4 vehicle because i drive a 2008 Nissan 350z Nismo edition that I want to park over the winter so nothing bad happens "as it has in the past".
I went from looking for a ratty clunker that would just get me through the 4 months of winter then i could just drag it to the junk yard to looking at something that i could use every day year round and have some fun with! Alot of my friends are into mudding and they all tried to talk me in to Toyota and Chevy 4x4's.
The jeep i tracked down and bought is a 1998 Cherokee, it has 102,000 miles on it and for the most part it is in amazing shape mechanically and cosmetically. Before i bought the jeep it was used as a security jeep, so it has a cop style spotlight on the A-pillar, and used to have a full light bar on it. With the 98 the owner also threw in a 89 parts jeep that has 3.5" suspension lift and much nicer off-road style rims. "If anyone needs parts just let me know"
My plan is to as soon as i get some free time is to get the parts jeep torn down, then get the lift swapped over. After i get the lift done i think im going to throw some 31" tires under it and see how i like it. After that who knows!
Thanks for all the helpful info on this site! Hope everyone has a great and safe week!

went looking at tires today to see how much i should start setting aside for a good set of AT 31-10.5-15's. Think i might end up getting some mickey thompson Baja MTZ's for $717.33 total. Also looked at some Goodyear Wrangler Authority's for around 600$ total. Anyone know if either of these are good?
Thanks for the input!
