Default New jeeper from TN

So I've been lurking here for a few months whille saving money to buy an xj because my ranger gets 12 mpg. Well yesterday I found a clean one on CL so this morning I drove 5 hours to Louisville, KY to get this jeep. He was asking $3200 but I managed to talk him down to $2700. The po was a younger guy that was a sniper in Iraq but had to come back home from an injury.

Its a stock red (chili pepper?) 98 xj with 142k on the clock. All around a nice jeep but it has its problems like almost every other used vehicle. Has a small rust spot on the passenger side rocker pannel that someone tried to patch but didn't do so well, AC blows but no cold air (I figured it needed to be recharged but po said that the part would cost $150 so could be the compresser), and an odd starting problem. It wont start first try but will the second time.

Only pics I have right now:

And my ranger because im a pic ***** lol...

Welcome from Wisconsin. Like them both, The XJ & Ranger. So now at least you'll be getting 15 mpg.

Haha thank you both and yeah the ranger only goes 200 miles on a full tank...the xj has went around 350 miles since I filled it up and still have 1/4th a tank.

Nice. Have you ever rode up to Monteagle and wheeled? most of the time I wheel off in there.

I've road up and down monte eagle (white knuckle experience in my old xj with four people and camping gear loading it down) but never to wheel.
