New to the Jeep world
Just bought a 1999 Cherokee XJ or whatever(not really sure if it is an SE or how this thing is classified), it is bare bones stock and has no fancyness to it. Manual windows and locks etc...from what I have been reading that is the preferred way to go. I am new to the Jeep and basically the SUV type world. I am a sports car kinda guy but I bought this Jeep for a song and I need to keep miles off my car in the winter months. I also have some fun money to doctor this thing up a bit and what better place to discuss such things and get ideas. Obviously a lift is in order but nothing crazy. Headliner is sagging (no prob there). And maybe some bumper guards, roof racks, lighting.... Don't want to go too nuts but would also like to get a few extra HP out of the engine.
I am a 10 year Air Force vet who has pretty much been everywhere. Originally from Pittsburgh area I now live in St Louis. It's a small world and you never know who you might run into in these forums. I'm an avid golfer and like most sports but prefer hockey. Always willing to talk puck, fishing, golf, and guns.
Look forward to getting some insight and ideas and meeting new people. Thanks for putting up with my long winded intro. Have a great weekend everyone!
GO CARDINALS!!!

Thank You for our Service.
Congrats on your first Jeep purchase. I hope you enjoy your XJ as much as I've enjoyed my '04 WJ and the '97 ZJ I sold. (Both Grand Cherokees so you know).
Go Tigers!!!
