Default New here!!! The name's Joe C

Hey everyone! I am new here so I thought I would introduce myself and tell my story.

A friend of mine was selling his Jeep for $900/obo in the begining of the summer. He had just spent $2500 having all kinds of **** fixed (New head, Timing belt, water pump, thermostat, all belts and hoses, windshield replaced etc.) but he was moving away to school and couldn't take it with him. I ended up giving him $500 and refinishing some Porsche wheels for him.

Sitting in front of his house:

As you can see it is a disgusting mess. All four rims were bent, it had two different types of tires on it, rear tires were losing air, tail lights were broken, Passenger side window didnt work, no stereo or any wiring for the speakers (and no speakers,) rear wheel cylinders were leaking and rear brakes hardly worked. I am sure I am missing some stuff but yeah, it was a mess. He also kept his roof basket.

Once I got it home:

I spent all day washing it and cleaning the inside (which was obviously trashed):

I ended up picking up a new set of wheels and tires from my neighbor. They were a little smaller than I wanted (31" tires on 15" Cragar soft 8's) but the price was right, $50 plus a Red Bull fridge that I had sitting in my garage.

Clean with new wheels/tires, new rear brakes, and CD player/speakers installed:

After leaving it for as long as I could hold myself back (like two days) I decided to paint the whole thing. I spent the better part of a day prepping and then taping up all the windows. I decided that bedliner would be a good burly look for it, it looks like flat black from a bit of a distance but it has a nice rough texture to it, which hides all the scratches and small dents.

After paint and an all around wash:

The next thing I did was purchase a Thule m.o.a.b. roof basket with extender piece ($75!) so I could put my spare tire on the roof:

I have been purchasing all the required stuff to lift it another two inches, but it is a LOT more than I thought. I have never been into Jeeps or off-roading vehicles at all so I had no clue that in order to lift you need like a **** ton of other stuff.

How is is sitting now. Literally still douched in mud:

The other day I bought a set of five 33x12.50x15 Super Swamper TSL's and I had to trim my fenders so they would fit, here is what it looks like now, followed by some videos!!!

Thanks guys!! I always really wanted a Jeep and I couldn't pass this one up when I heard he was selling it. I have had a ton of fun getting it all fixed up, I am definitely hooked on Jeeps for forever. There is a ton more stuff to come so I guess I will be updating this as a build thread maybe?

Installed 2" spacers, new shocks, new u-joints, and front brakes today. Rear shackles, front lower control arms and drop brackets will go on this weekend:
