Smile New here

Hey guys, not sure how long I will be staying here. I joined this forum to see if you guys could help educate me on these wonderful machines. I currently own this and was hoping I could pass it down to my sister in return buying an XJ.

I'd like to know certain things about this jeep most of all being the problem areas or what to look out for when buying one.

Thanks guys, John Pepper.

This is exactly what I'm looking for. Looking to keep it stock.

Just want to see what mechanical problems to look out for.

nice looking thats for sure. the 4.0L is a great engine. check oil pan gasket, head gaskets, oil pressure sending unit, transfer case and drive shaft stiffness, tire wear pattern if visible, and any unusual activities. good luck

Welcome to our forum!

If its a 2000-2001 check to see if it has the 0331 head. If it does, plan on getting a new head eventually.

Thank you so much guys, this is exactly the kind of info I was asking for.

Will the head have "0331" stamped into it?
