New Guy Saying Hi!
Hey I'm Nate from Rochester, NY. I just picked up a 2000 Cherokee last week. This is my first SUV, I am used to compact cars. Actually this is my 14th vehicle and I am only 25 years old . My other car is a 2004 Z06 . I am quite impressed with this Jeep, its a Cherokee Sport, 4.0L, 110k miles, looks and drives brand spanking new. The torque surprised me, I didn't think it would pull as hard as she does. I don't have too many plans for it. I am upgrading the stereo, I'd like to get some nice rubber all season floor mats. I plan to keep her for awhile so I signed up here to hopefully learn some things and share some of my experiences.
Thanks for reading and look forward to talking/meeting with some of you!
-Nate

Welcome to CF, Nate! You'll love having a XJ! Couple things to be careful of with your 2000. 1. Watch your temps. You have the 0331 head which is prone to cracking if the engine overheats, so be careful with that. 2. You have what's called a low pinion Dana 30 front axle. The pinion sits lower, making the drive shaft sit at a greater angle. If you plan on doing a lift, you may have to do a t-case drop. Other than those 2 things, you should be set. Can't wait to see some pics!

I plan to get some pictures soon. I might have a day or two off coming up so it would be a good time to do so. I don't know If I ever plan to lift the Jeep, although fun and probably easy, I like to save my $ for Corvette upgrades.
