hey guys my names stanley, i just bought my first car about two weeks ago, a 1997 jeep cherokee 4.0 4x4 auto. 166,000 miles in decent shape. newer transmission, and tires. the only thing is it needs an engine. no compression in cylinder two and it throws a code for missfires in cylinder one and two. ive been lurking around this sight learning what i could about my new obsession, and now i decided its time to join!! so looking forward to further expanding my knowledge of the xj's.

 

by the way if anyone in western PA has an extra 4.0 laying around they would let go cheap that would be greatly appreciated. (:

yes theres plenty around here as ive found. but alot of them have close to as many miles as mine and are asking quite a bit of money. the one in my jeep has 166,000 miles on the original engine and its blown. how many miles do you guys's jeeps have?

yeah i bought a rear from collis for a dodge last year and paid out the whazoo for it. ill take my chances in the junkyard (; hopefully ill have some money on the way soon to get this ole girl going strong again. i got my stereo all hooked up and started detailing it, but ive been busy with family matters the past week or so.
