New guy here, Corpus Christi Texas.
Just jumped in to the world of jeep, got me a 2001 XJ sport, 4x4. So far only thing I can find wrong with it is a small oil leak from the rear main seal, and clear coat is bad. I bought it from a one owner who has every receipts for every oil change, every tire rotation, every service. I was very impressed.
Now the fun part starts and time to make this my own.

Checked them last night, could not really tell it was pretty dark. I have a nice 3 day weekend so I am going to pull the note pad out and work from front to back and check everything out.
Was checking out Rusty's out last night, do I jump into a larger lift or should I go slow, time will tell.
Will post pics also.

Personally, I dont think an xj need to be lifted more than 4.5-5.5 inches. At that point if properly set up you can run up to like 40s. But remember the bigger you go the more expensive its gonna get. Longarms, sye, gears, lockers, possible axle swap, 4 link. First think about what you want out of the jeep, then think what you can do to get it there and stay within budget.
Personally I plan to go all out crawler, low cog, truggy rear, narrowed front, probably D60s, and 42. But without going over 4" of lift.

What rear axle do you have? 33s will be fine on stock axles, and gears to like 4.10. 35s Id definetaly upgrade the rear axle, or at least the axle shafts(only if you have a 8.25) if you have the D35 that swap would be my first project, to either a d44, or ford 8.8
