Default New guy from ct

Name is roger from ct. Don't own a jeep yet. I was in a motorcycle accident and the wife isn't having anything with bikes right now, so I need something a little better on fuel then my truck since I will be driving every day.
I'm looking at a 2000 sport this week, anything I should keep an eye out for. I know it needs a blower resistor and I guess the check gauge light comes on for oil pressure. I have heard that is usually just an OPS.
Thanks

Welcome to the site. I'm from Manchester,CT but live in NY now. Anyway there are some threads on what to look for when buying XJs. Try a google search. 2000&2001 models are known for cracked heads when overheating. Rust is big killer of XJs. Look at the floors inside and underneath. Also rocker panels and doors rust out easily. Jeeps in CT are pretty expensive, you might wanna look out of state.

Average cost from what I've seen is $3000-$4500.which is fine as long as it is rust free. Jeeps seem to be like Harley's. everyone thinks they are gonna get back what they put into it. I turn a wrench for a living so if it needs a little work I'm cool with that also.
