Hey guys,

I bought my 97 XJ 4x4 5spd in early December of 2013 as a toy for me to play with. I live just outside of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, I'm 23, and I am a mechanical engineer working in the auxiliary plastics manufacturing industry. I have been lurking around here since then looking at some ideas and honing my offroad knowledge a little bit.

My daily driver is an 05 Ranger FX4 Level II 5spd on 33x12.50s with an Aussie locker and I initially had plans to put a solid axle under the front of it. However, I realized with my budget an XJ would allow me to build much more quickly.

Thanks for all your help in advance and keep and check out the build thread I will be putting up shortly since the jeep only stayed stock for about a week.

 

Welcome to the forum. Your buddy's ranger looks like a beast, your XJ should keep up just fine if properly built. Heck I'm sure the way it sits now,
it can hold its own.

I live up in Mequon currently but I work in New Berlin.

I am also from Illinois originally. The Crystal Lake area to be more precise.
