Howdy,
I'm new to the forum here, but not to 4wheeling. Just sold my 4Runner last year because it was so specialized it was a PITA to drive. I went from lifted, locked, and powerful to a kind of mild XJ. I've had the XJ for years and used it more for camping and hunting than my 4Runner so thought I'd just keep it to where I could do some of the mid-range stuff, but keep it more comfortable to drive.

I have a 90 XJ Limited with around 4.5" of lift. I've replaced the 242 with a JB Conversions SYE'd 231 and added TJ Canyon's and 31" BFG KM2s. It is running the stock axles with a non-disco 30 up front and LSD'd 35 in the rear. I threw the rear sway bar away and added RE Gen 1 Disco's up front. I have a Warn M9000 up front for when it's needed. I'm running LeBarron hood vents and a completely rebuilt cooling system. Wish I'd gone to the new version of the cooling system when I did that, but I don't have cooling problems, so it is all good. For communications I run a Kenwood dual band amateur radio and am getting ready to install my CB. I have custom front and rear bumpers as well as sliders for protection, but still need to add frame stiffeners and a rear tire rack. I do plan on changing the rear axle and adding the larger u-joint front shafts, but probably not much more than that. I may add an ARB or two in the future, but not for now.

So far, I like the site. There are a couple of members here who know me, and a bunch of nice rigs.

Mike

Hey Frank. Saw you were here, and you were one of the ones I was talking about in the first post. Sold the Yota, so now just the XJ. Ok, now for pics. Not sure how pics work here, so hopefully they won't be too large. These are before I added the sliders. Dang Mag Chloride ate the paint off the front bumper. I need to take it off, strip it, add D-Ring mounts, and paint it. Too much to do and never enough time.

Playing around. Those brake lines are tight

Ok, a few teasers of the Yota.

When I sold it, it had more lift, larger tires, and different rims. The rims that are in the first photo. Man it was fast, but it only got 8mpg
