Hi all
I am following this forum for a while now and a few minor issues with my 98 4.0 (sport? limited? i dont know) has been solved using the info on this great forum. I thank you all for that!
Have the pretty stock, blue XJ with almost 147K miles on it now, since Januari this year and i am the 2nd happy owner.
Ofcourse she needed some TLC:
- Radiator was fubar (replaced)
- Coolant flush
- Oilfilteradapter leaked (replaced)
- Droplinks replaced
- AC full serviced, which i run of a rockerswitch inside the cabin
- Replaced front orange turnsignalhousings with semi-clear ones, for the fresh look of it.
Po loved the jeep and had her regular serviced and replaced a ton off things (like heatercore/ startermotor/ freezeplug / headgasket and headbolts/ shocks / tires / coolanthoses / thermostat / rotors and pads / driverseatframe welded (?? wtf) / Oil and filters / PS-pump and the list goes on and on)
There are still some things on my "to-do list" for after the winter-period:
- Repair steeringbox (has a very slight leak)
- Tune up with new cap/rotor/plugs and wires
- Replace fluids in diffs and transfercase
- AW4 fluid is nice and clean. Maybe a complete flush but i dont know yet. I read many storys of pros and cons.. TBC on this one
- Maybe slight RMS-leak or the rockercoverseal is shot. Have to look into that one aswell.
Thanks and maybe i can add some experience here
