Hey everyone, I am on here trying to do some research on a XJ im picking up in a couple of days. it is a 1990 4.0L automatic and I dont know if it has the manual or not with it. my main question is what is the capacities of lubricants for the XJ? All of the fluids were recently changed but I want to do it so I know it is done. Also what weights and oils do you recommended. thanks
Welcome to the forums
The 4.0 holds 6 qrts of oil with the filter change. My Grand Cherokee w/ the 4.0 wants 10w-30...
Not so sure on transmission... As for the front and rear diffs and transfer case, just fill up until the fluid reaches the fill holes...

went and picked up my XJ today. she needs some TLC most of it I can do but she needs an alignment...soon. biggest problem is the steering column needs to be replaced. other than that just the general once over needs to be done. not bad for $650, no rust a few dents but all in all damn decent shape.
