Default New to Cherokees

Purchased a 2016 Latitude about a month ago. Am enjoying it so far, it is a huuuuge change from the 05 TJ I had with no a/c, half doors, and a 6 speed manual. Enjoying it so far, and way more practical daily driver. Unfortunately it is currently at the Jeep dealership (under warranty from where I bought it) with some sensor issues. Should be back to me by end of week and I look forward to having it for awhile. So far I am pretty impressed with it, already had it up in the north Georgia mountains for some hiking and was pleased with the handling and fuel economy.

Hi mrround,
Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new purchase! If you need any assistance while working with your dealer to address your sensor concerns, please send our team a PM. We'd be happy to connect you with a Case Specialist to work with throughout your dealer visit.

Hi mrround,

JeepCares is sometimes Alex, and sometimes Laura, and possibly other names, and is either a nutcase or a scammer of some kind. I strongly recommend you simply ignore him/her/it, and in no case engage in a PM exchange or provide any contact information.

Hi BlueRidgeMark,
I would like to take a moment to clarify for you that JeepCares is the Social Enagagement Team for FCA. We monitor forums, as well as social media, to assist customers who are currently experiencing vehicle concerns as well as get them connected with a Case Specialist to work with their dealers throughout the repair process. We also track trends so that the appropriate parties are made aware of what concerns our customers are experiencing. If you do not wish to use our services, that is perfectly fine, but please do not discourage other customers from contacting us when they need assistance. We are active on many other social forums and you are welcome to confirm our validity by visiting one of them.

And perhaps you would care to tell us who you would like us to believe that "FCA" is, and provide some proof of your claims? Its very hard to believe that Chrysler is paying people to monitor random forums to take care of people who have 20+ year old cars. I don' theeen so, Lucy.

As it stands, you have ZERO credibility.

Hello,

BlueRidgeMark,

I just contacted Jeep directly and they were able to verify that "Alex" is in fact a legitimate representative of Jeep. The representative I spoke with at Jeep, "Emily" was able to provide me with the same case number that "Alex" provided me and confirmed that a customer case has been started for me. At this time there is no indication that this person is not who/what they claim to be.

Also, my vehicle is 3 years old and still covered by it's warranty from the factory. It is not surprising in this day and age that a manufacturer would monitor social media, forums, etc. in order to gauge public response to their vehicles and the services provided by the dealerships that carry them.

You have still not provided any reason for any thinking person to believe you. If it were not for the confirmation from mrround, I wouldn't. The "JeepCares" moniker is thoroughly generic, and does not in any way suggest that you are really an official representative of Jeep. If you want to be taken seriously, try providing some information about who you are on your profile with links which can be used to verify your authenticity. Hey, here's an idea - try explaining who you are instead of just assuming that you will be recognized as an official entity.

Further, the "help" you offer is useless. You do not engage in the purpose of this forum, which is providing technical advice to people with technical problems. Your posts provide no value, which further contributes to the perception of illegitimacy.

As it is, the only people who take you seriously here are newbies, and I am not the only person trying to warn people to ignore you. I'm just the only person doing it in the open, instead of via PM.

No, not surprising with a 3 year old vehicle, but not really credible when he/she/they are commenting on 20+ year old vehicles.

But thank you for the information. I just wish Jeep had more sense than to implement a program in such a sloppy manner.

So turns out, in my situation, it was not any issue with the vehicle itself. The previous owner had an aftermarket gps tracker installed in the vehicle, poorly, and it was causing a short with the other systems. They removed the tracker and all seems well.

Not sure if JeepCares was any help but after not hearing anything since last Friday, I had the vehicle back in possession fully repaired within a few hours of talking to the person from FCA that called me.
