New to 4x4 and Jeeps!
Hey all! Jeremiah from Omaha Nebraska here. After months of lurking, research, and procrastination, I finally pulled the trigger on a Cherokee last night.
It's a 2000, all bedlined underneath, mint interior, fresh white paint job, tinted windows. 180k miles, but it runs like a champion.
I've got a built 04 cavalier(I know, sounds crazy) and it's coming up on its 9th winter. With track suspension, even on snow tires it just sucks driving it around. I was ready for something big, 4x4, fun, and reliable. After searching for samurai's, trackers, s10's, rangers, and all the like, I stumbled across a picture of a lightly lifted XJ on 31's and fell in love. Now I own one
I'd like to do a little mild exhaust work on it, and am ordering cragar soft 8's and mastercraft 31x10.5x15's as we speak. The fenders were already trimmed by whoever owned it prior, and the paint was applied over it. Very good job was done. The suspension is all brand new as well, and has a good stance. Came with semi-balding 31" a/t's already, and there is no rubbing, so we'll see.
Anyway, I wanted a monster snow machine, and something I can drive spirited in while on gravel, dirt, mud, or anything. I've already started ordering parts and can't stop!
Sorry for the novel, but i'm enthused to find an awesome Jeep community, with tons of information and help.
