Talking My first jeep!!!

I just swapped my 92 bmw 535i for a 89 jeep cherokee loredo 4x4. I was lurking this site a bit before I went through with the trade, because the guy told me the flexplate was cracked and that's why it makes a god awful sound and that it is normal, blah, blah, blah. I'm ecstatic that it has a/c, and the all the 4x4 functions seem to be working properly, I'll make sure they do once I fix the flexplate . There are a couple of odds and ends that I will need some help with, and this looks like a good place, most of you guys seem willing to help and that's awesome. Well it's nice to meet you all, I'll see ya around.

Cool

Welcome From New Jersey

P.S. Change the Torque convertor when you replace the Flexplate/Flywheel the two main causes for the flexplate cracking ar severly overheated torque converter expansion and crankshaft walking from a worn thrust bearing ring.(part of the crank shaft and rear main cap)

Thanks for the welcome guys!

I'm glad I haven't done anything with it yet, I'll go ahead with replacing the thrust bearings and torque converter, that way I won't have the problem a few miles down the road.

Thanks again guys.
