Moved to an XJ
I spent last winter building an 87 YJ. I sold it to buy a sport bike. I am now building a 99 2 door XJ. I picked it up real cheap it hit a deer and needs a hood, fender, header panel and radiator. It has under 100K and I love the 2 doors. I plan on either a 4" or 6" lift. I haven't decided yet. I want to run 33's. I will post pics as soon as I start building. I am collecting parts right now.
My Yj went from this very rusty:
To this, I did all the work myself including the paint with ghost flames:

Welcome, looks like a lot of blood, sweat, and tears went into that YJ, very nice work, now you have an even BETTER JEEP project, XJ all the way!

Here are pics of the jeep. I replaced the hood and fender. I found both the alternator and the clutch fan bracket locked up so I have to get new ones.

since its seems like your building her from the ground up, your prob not in a crazy hurry. Id just save up for the bigger lift, even if it takes longer. You'll end up just like all of us who got the smaller lift because it was cheeper and now we want bigger. lol

My problem is I am always in a hurry. I built my YJ is less than 3 months. It went from having a rotten frame to perfect in 3 months. So I am impatient. I will probably go with a 4.5 lift since in Maryland they are tough on lift. A 6" may push me over the edge.

The jeep is fairly clean. There is a rot hole in the driver side rocker. I plan on building a set of box tube rockers, a safari rack, and front/rear bumpers. That is my next goal. Today I got the alternator, radiator, and ac condenser installed. I am just waiting on my header panel. So after the metal fabrication I will paint the jeep. Then since they will cost the most the lift, wheels, and tires will be last.
