Do yourself a favor. Contact BigDavid here on the site and get his disc brake conversion kit. You'll be happy you did. Welcome to the sickness.

One of the best upgrades you can do, many of us have done it and have gone through BigDave for the parts. Shouldn't even be a question to do it or not.

The best thing you can do though is make sure everything is in good shape before you start the modifications. There's no use in spending all the money and time on something that doesn't run well. Maintenance first, then upgrades.

Yeah totally, I've definately got a long way to go before upgrades even start but like I said I'm fresh into the jeep world and I'm ready and willing to learn.

It also might be naive innocent bliss but sometimes I look at something that seems crazy complicated and then watch a how to and it falls into place and makes more sense. But I've got a lot to learn and plenty of headaches down the road I'm sure.

I already love this place. It took all but maybe a day to get a response on here and other forums I've tried took literal months. Excited to be here!

There was one maintenance job I tackled already that I almost forgot about that already caused me some stress:

Nope, opposite end lol. But my hood is picky. The drivers side corner doesn't stay down?? So I have to essentially CPR the corner so it latches right (I feel like I just used all the wrong words to describe that haha)

Lol, can picture exactly what you meant. Never heard it called that, but it's actually perfect.

Pinched finger in the hatch latch?

Spray all your latches on the underside of the hood with a lubricant. Don't forget the portion in the middle that all the cables run to/from. This can get gummed up, and get stuck opened or closed. If its stuck good enough the cable can snap when you pull it from inside the cab. Ask me how I know? Luckily enough, the hood popped opened and the cable broke at the same time, so the fix was simple. If it breaks and the hood isn't opened, that's no fun!

I'll run to the parts store today and pick up some. Any specific kind work better than others? Lithium? Graphite? Just plain ol' WD-40? Some other crazy named somethingrother?

But I think its just the latch being funny. I've had Sarge for two years now and its done that ever since I got it so I don't foresee it giving me any drastic problems like that
