Looking to purchase a cherokee
Hey guys. I recently sold my street bike and am in the market for a Cherokee. I found one that seems to be decent for the price, and would like some input. I'm very new to jeeps so I was hoping to get some help on what to look for when I go look at it this Saturday.

I would try looking on craigslist, you can find some really good deals. That isn't to bad but you should try to offer $1,500.
I got my xj with 100,000 miles for only $1,000. Keep looking don't rush into it, I know your probably anxious but good come to those who wait!
Goodluck!!!

I agree that price seems high. Also make sure you check the underside of that jeep. Look to see how much rust there is and what is rusted

I found this one on craigslist. It just happens to be at a small dealer. I asked the guy what his bottom dollar was and he said $1800

I got mine with 133,xxx miles and no rust for 1200 to give you an idea of price.
1800 might not be bad for a jeep in delaware if there is no rust. I'm not sure how hard rust free jeeps are to find up there.

buying the first one you look at is probably not a great idea, check em out, drive em, see how they feel, see whats broken or different with each jeep. cash in hand usually beats bottom dollar.

Take it from me , I made the mistake of not waiting and I found the one I really wanted after I had already found the one I have now....I really can't complain I bought a 99 Cherokee that was a deer hit, but the guy I bought it from gave me most of the parts I needed to get it right again and plus he had it delivered on a flatbed right to my door and his place was over an hour away....not bad tho , it had only 89,000 miles on it when I got it, and now it has just over 101,000 ....take your time and look ...and when we say look for rust , look at the floors and rockers....I have to have the drivers side floor pan replaced but before I do I am going to start a thread for it , so anyone who needs to replace there floor can have something to go by.......Hope you find a good one !!!!

I ended up buying it. Everything power works, a/c is ice cold, no rust etc. only issue is it leaks oil from about every where oil can leak from. Trans fluid is clean, and shifts great. Drove it 2 hours home with no issues.
