Hello!

Just wanted to do a little introduction. I've been lurking CF for about a year now, which is about how long I've had my XJ. It's a 1996 Country with an Automatic Transmission and is bone stock. For the most part I intend to keep it that way for the sake of reliability. My Jeep has been in my family for about 15 years now and became mine last April.

It has just over 225k on the odometer. But about 60k on the refurbished motor that was purchased a few years ago after, lets just say, a failure of the previous engine.

In the past year, I've had a lot of problems spring up with other non-engine components that are wearing out after 225k miles. I have replaced the following:

Steering Pump
Water Pump
Oil Filter Adapter Gasket
Front Sway Bar Links
Crankshaft Positioning Sensor
Wheel Cylinders
Brake Calipers
Brake Drums
Brake Shoes
Brake Rotors
Brake Pads

I feel kind of like I've been building a brand new Jeep!

I've also done my oil changes every 3k miles and had an alignment done.

As I said, my intention is to keep her mostly stock. My previous vehicle was a 1996 Acura Integra, which I did not keep completely stock. And though I loved the car, as it got older, I could tell that modifications were being harder on it than if I had left it stock. My subtle plans for the Jeep are as follows:

Deal with sagging rear leaf springs in as stock a manner as possible
Flush transmission
Deal with bent front bumper in as stock a manner as possible
Replace ball joints
Install CB Radio
Strip wheels to bare aluminum and polish
Keep working on finish of paint with clay bar and more detailing
Dig through past 15 years of service documents to see what else has been neglected.

This is from a camping trip I took about a month after I got the Jeep.

Cats dig it for getting in the shade.

When it just won't start (CPS) after dying on the side of the interstate and the mechanic has to get it in the garage by pushing it.
