Default Kreeper from mississippi

Hey fellas. Name's Scott. I'm 39, married with 3 kids. I'm an owner operator long haul trucker driver of 15 years. I just bought a 94 two door XJ. It's 2wd with the 2.5/manual Trans combo. It needs a new throw out bearing and the engine runs terribly. Why did I buy it? I have always wanted a two door XJ, and this one has a GREAT body. I figured I will start fixing it up, and who knows? It MAY end up being converted to a 4.0 with 4WD! I plan on using it get to work as soon as I get it running better.

The engine is EXTREMELY oily and idles rough. It also surges, sputters, and even stalls. I have read a few possibilities as to the nature of these issues, but I'm prepared to hear that the engine is shot. I'm not sure if I will be ready to step up to the 4.0 at this point due to the expense. Besides, I need the MPG for commuting.

I look forward to learning from you guys! Thanx for having me!
