How it going everyone. I've been a long time looker and now finally joining.

This is my second xj that I've owned. My first one was handed down to me by my parents when I was in high school. That one has been long gone and I've been wanting to get another.

I recently picked one up about 7 months ago.

1999 sport
132k miles
4.5" short arm lift (believe it was a rough country)
32x11.5 BFG a/t's on 15" 8 hole pacers
Rear swing out tire carrier and front bumper (built by a local company here in Louisville)
3/16" frame stiffeners
The po went through the entire jeep before it became mine. New alternator, new power steering pump, new radiator, new starter, u-joints all the way around, new brakes at all four corners, motor pulled and all seals re done, trans pulled and rebuilt, and a cooler added.

I've learned a lot just by searching and hope to learn more and hopefully become of some help to others.

About a month ago a girl hit me in my passenger front tire and did some damage. Took the axle over, dented oil pan, broke passenger side lca axle mount, motor mounts are twisted, and a few other things.

My plan with this xj was to make it into a toy in a few years but it came a lot sooner than expected. I've already started to tear it down and started collecting parts for my build. I will eventually start a build thread once I get a little more done with it and some parts collected so I don't leave everyone hanging for awhile before the next update.

I picked up a set of axles from a 98 2500 cummins. Dana 60 front and Dana 70 rear. I know the rear is over kill but I liked the idea of having a matching set instead of mix matching them. I recently ordered a bender and notcher and also traded my small welder for something a little more capable.

I hope to at least have the axles under it before to long and at least be able to drive it and then the rest will come slowly.

Here's a few pics since I have owned it

From the wreck

And now how it sits

Sorry to hear about the wreck. I'm from Louisville too. I just picked up my first XJ. 01 sport. Which shop built your bumpers? I've been trying to link up with some jeep folks here in town. Welcome to the forum. This place kicks ***.

RLC welding and fabrication built the bumpers. The PO owner had them done and also had line-x sprayed on them as well

Well I got the set for $350 so I couldn't really pass it up. I'm looking into the cad system and going to try and figure that out before trying to source another front axle.

Thank you. There was no injuries thankfully, they ended up totaling her car out and they considered the jeep fixable. The whole situation sucked, but I was happy to hear that I would be able to keep a clean title on it.
