Default KC metro XJ newb

I've had my 1999 Cherokee SE for over a year. Got it dirt cheap...for a reason.
Two busted valve springs, a bent rod, replaced shortblock, new alternator, new AC compressor, replaced front fender, new front brakes (they were trashed!), and new wheel bearings later, I can say I actually really like this vehicle!

Seriously, after putting on some wheels and new tires, I had more fun on a couple of snow days this past winter than I could imagine. I'm a lifelong Mustang guy, and I really needed to make sure my 1999 Cobra didn't need to be called into driving duty again when the weather here in the KC metro sucks.

My next projects for the Cherokee are a small (probably 3") lift, a super budget stereo (manual locks, this thing is easy to break into), a roof rack, some off road lights, and rear and front bumpers with a modest winch. Going for the safari feel.

Here's a before and after (the trim pieces are all black now):
