Default just got my 1st Cherokee!!!

Hello all, picked up a 2000 XJ a few days ago! 170k on the clock, patriot blue pearl. This is my second Jeep, I used to have a '74 CJ-5. I think I got a pretty good deal, 3900. so far I figured out why the A/C didn't work (compressor was unplugged!), fixed the window lockout switch so the p/w work from their respective doors (of course from info gleaned from this awesome site!), and I 've got a valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, and rear main seal on the way...other than that and a few dents and scratches, she's perfect!

I'm probably gonna start off with a 3-3.5" lift, some 31's ( either goodyear MT/R, MT MtZ's, or maybe even some of those Treadrights...). I need to decide on a winch setup, and if I trust that D35 out back enough to throw in a locker of some kind...Jeez there's so much to think about I can't sleep at night!

haha yea once u do one thing u wanna do so much more, but if u have some money to spare u can go to the junk yard and pick up a ford 8.8 rear end outa a ranger, and theyre stronger than the d35,but 31's will be no problem with the d35

Sounds just like mine. My drivers side auto lock doesnt work all the time. Passenger window can only be rolled down by me. Its a 2000 with 142k and I got her yesterday.

You sure you have a D35, not a 8.25? Also you have a awesome LOW pinion 30 in the front. Welcome to CF madness!

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

imehtoh, the poker run sounds like a great time, i'm hoping i can make it down, i guess i'll be in the stocker class for this one...

xjrev10, yeah its a d35 out back, has 35c cast into the upper left of the centersection. ugh yeah i know LP d30, any insight if a 3-3.5" lift will make for too much of an angle on the front driveshaft?
