Intro from SE Alaska
Hi all,
I just picked up a project XJ yesterday. It's a '93 with 158k on the 4.0 liter engine. It is an automatic has only a small amount of rust a broken windshield and I only spent $800 for it. I am really excited to have another Jeep and a project to boot. My wife has a 98 TJ so we are now a two jeep family.
I've ordered the book High-Performance Jeep Cherokee Xj Builder's Guide to help me learn about the vehicle and make decisions on what to change. I have a friend that moved 45 minutes from the Nevada side of the Rubicon trail and would really like to do at least a part of it next year.
This will be a low budget project. I have to finish my son's K1500 over the next couple of weeks and then I will roll the XJ into the garage and see what I have gotten myself into.
I had a Cherokee 20 years ago when we moved to Ketchikan so I know how well they go in the snow when they are bone stock.
I've enjoyed reading dozens of posts the last two days and will post up when I have something worth while to share.
