insalling new shackles on 92 xj

Default insalling new shackles on 92 xj

The upper bolts on the rear shackles seem impossible to get to? do I have to remove the gas tank. seems like a pain

I don't think you have to remove the gas tank. Just take the nut off from the other side, and beat the living S$!% out of the bolt.

I cant get to the nut on the inside, is there a hole in the bottom of the frame for access? i have a trailer hitch i can only guess it may be covering a hole

Umm, I don't know what your trying to take off I guess. Take a picture, 'cause that doesn't sound right. I have a receiver hitch, that I have to take off to access my shackle bolts.

you do have to take the reciever hitch off to get to the upper shackle bolt? that is what i thought may be the case. does the hitch cover a hole in the bottom of the frame or the inside?

I havew had the jeep for a week and have the front done, just cant get to that upper inside shackle nut. i cranked on the bolt from the outside but it is just spinning
