i am kind of bummed because i wrote this long cool intro telling ya'll all about my self and my jeeps and prior jeeps and the dang system at work wouldn't let me post it but i will try to do it again

my name is jason and i have two jeeps. one is actually my wife's jeep but she said she bought it for me so..... who knows. anyways, i have a 2002 liberty that the engine nicely kicked the bucket on us on new year's eve and i just bought an 87 cherokee three says ago to replace it. (the wife wants to replace the motor though so we are keeping the liberty) we have had cehrokees for many years and my parents had cherokees when i got out of the military.

so far we have had these jeeps

89 commanche
95 cherokee
00 cherokee
93 grand cherokee
02 liberty
87 cherokee

i am a huge a fan of the 4.0 and the 2.5. my commanche and the 00 cherokee were 4 cylinder standard trans jeeps and they were great and all the rest were 4.0 auto tranny (except the liberty, let me tell you, do not buy a v6 jeep, what pieces of crap but thats another story).

anyways, what to tell ya'll? i live in flour bluff, a little peninsula between corpus christi and mustang island that is its own community. we have a military base, school district, and stores. i actually live about 3/4 of a mile from the bay so i ahve to be very careful with rust. i used to race e30 bmws and won the class at the local autocross with an 89 325i and i still have bmws, an 82 320 and a 91 318.

i don't have all those anymore, just had those models. i loved the commanche but having two young boys required more seating so it moved on.

i only have the liberty and cherokee (plus two bmws) now

 

Welcome.Oh the memories of Corpus. My grand parents lived on Montclair between Alameda and Ocean Dr. for about 30years. My Uncle lives in the house now. I lived with them for a while then we moved just north of Alameda. Back when I was there everyone had a 4x4 Van. I guess it was some hippie thing. My uncle had one and he would take us out to Port A. in it. It had so much rust u could see the road through the floor while ridein in the back. I want to take my XJ down there, but that rust just scares the crap out of me.

yup, the rust is horrible here. the sunroofs on all the bmws rust out from the inside out and we lost a trooper to rust from inside the rear doors. our 95 cherokee started rusting bad from the roof racks and our liberty is already rusting around the third brake light.

i hate living by the ocean when it comes to cars but i grew up always living by the ocean or lakes so i cannot live inland without getting horribly bored.
