Howdy all. New here but not new to off-road vehicles. I live right at the base of the Superstition Mountains in Apache Junction, AZ. I've owned just about every type of off-road vehicle there is, but this is only my second Jeep. My last one was a CJ-7 and at the time I didn't have the funds to build it like I wanted to so I sold it. Today I bought a 1993 Grand Cherokee and I am pretty stoked. I have wanted a project vehicle for a while, which is why I was looking for a stock rig that I can build my way. Found one with only 147,000 original miles on it that has been well taken care of mechanically, although the paint is toast. But paint doesn't get you down the trail.. Older fellow that loved to trail ride but didn't beat on it is who I bought it from. This thing drives like a dream, has great oil pressure, everything works, he even took me to a local off-road trail to try 4x4 and 4-Lo. It even has the original radio with not only a CD player but a cassette player as well! LOL. My goal is a super reliable trail rig (not a rock crawler). Definitely want a long-arm setup on either 33s or 35s. But that is a few months off as I am not made of money. I have already done a ton of research on ZJs over the past few months and I look forward to learning more here.
