Iam Dougie iam formally from the U.K I emigrated to Texas 6 years ago iam married with a step daughter and a stepson. I have had a few vehicles over the years I have lived here but 4 days ago I brought a 1989 jeep cherokee, it has a rough country lift kit fitted I think it's a 3 1/2 inch lift and a replacement engine with 105 k miles on the engine. As with older vehicles it has a couple of things that need to be sorted, tommrow iam going to replace the universal joints on the front and rear drive shafts and both steering axles. Iam a certified mechanic I trained at collage for 3 years. Iam looking forward to getting this project finished well further along as it was someone's project and they decided they didn't want to finish it. So it's there loss and my gain because when I drive it I get out grinning like a self abusing chimpanzee it also amuses me watching the kids get in they need a step ladder.

Hey Dougie - Truck looks great! I also emigrated from the UK to the USA a few years back: I first drove a Cherokee in Essex. It;s more fun here though. I'd be interested to see a few more pics!

 

Hi which part of the U.S.A. are you living in ?. I'll have a few more pics up soon just working on replacing all the uj's at moment and finding anything wrong before I start on the body work.

Iam near Lubbock. Thanks for the welcome guys iam looking forward to seeing where this project takes me.

I got the uj's done in the propshafts Sunday i just have the drive shafts to do this weekend.
