hi from snohomish county
Hi all. Just signed up. I currently am in the market for a cheap (under $1500) xj. I haven't had one yet, but hopefully i'll have one by the end of this month. I am a watercooled VW nut and I'm pretty good around the engine compartment. Could any of you please give any input on the quirks or what to avoid when buying, say an 89- 92 xj? I know a little about the coolingling system restrictions and to avoid the v6. I need something I can drive through the winter while my fox is down.
Edit: one in particular I am interested in is a '91 has a "rattle" in the engine and its been there for the 4 years he's owned it. Lifters? Might go look at it tomorrow.

on the case!
Heh. Well, picked her up today. Paid a thousand, everything works, good body, no rust, but there was a little drama from the previous owner's failure to tighten the battery terminals... Lots of smoke. So she's sitting with the battery disconnected till I can take a look at the damage tomorrow. anyways, here she is. I have a few more pics, but everyone's seen a stock 2 door. And Photobucket is being retarded today.
