I live in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada and I just picked up a 99 Cherokee sport today for my winter ride. I have never owned a jeep before so I don't really know what I am in for. I drive an 86 Pontiac Grand Prix in the summer. It's got a 355 vortec with a 5 speed standard behind it and it's all upgraded to go pretty good. I have a nascar pit licence and crew on a nascar whelan susperstock so this jeep with it's electronics is something that is foreign to me and hopefully the gremlins will stay away. I had a pathfinder for last winter and I'll never buy another piece of japanese junk again, no power, gas hog and uncomfortable
If you bought a Jeep for its great gas mileage you'll be pretty pissed off on your first trip to the pumps. lol.
Welcome, Try out Jeepkings.ca too. Lots of Toronto area guys on there. What we refer to outside of that area as "Toronto State"

Thanks....and as far as gas milage this jeep is rated to get in the city what the pathfinder was supposed to get on the highway and this jeep is bigger and more comfortable than the pathfinder so I should be a happy camper this winter

Welcome to the Jeep. Perhaps it's early, ever consider the Tri City Jeep Club, meet mondays at 6pm, Jack Astors restaurant, Fairway, south Kitchener. Great group in a great club, monthly wheelin events, no pressure. Always nice to have another XJ on the move.

thanks guys, I might try out the jack astors but I don't think I have the passion for jeeps like some of you. I like the 4 wheel drive for the winter and if I keep it it'll go away for the summer till next winter...and as far as offloading I'll pass.
