Default Hi! New to these parts...

I picked up a new to me '95 XJ a couple weeks ago. There's been quite a bit done to it already, but I'm systematically going through it to bring it up to par. I don't have any info on exactly what was done, but I have some limited info. Maybe you guys can help identify some things...

I'm told that it has a 6.5" Rusty's lift, and new "crate rebuilt" hopped up 4.0HO.

It looks like its super clean. I would be curious to know what axles and such it has under it. What kind of wheeling do you like to do? Oh and Welcome to CherokeeForum!

As far as i can tell, the axles and gears are original. I just rebuilt all of the steering last weekend and have ball joints in the works. I need to get it to an alignment shop to figure out just which offset ball joint degree i need since its got really negative camber right now.

Ive yet to take it out wheeling, primarily because there isnt a SYE installed and im 6.5" lifted, so id be asking for trouble. Once the steering/ball joint issue is sorted, an SYE is next, but it all takes $$.

Thanks for the kind words fellas.

The mudflaps are not by choice, but legality. They slip off easy enough though.

They're 36 12.50's...actually might be a tad too big for anything beyond a pavement queen. I'm afraid that any serious wheeling and they'd be buried up into my already cut out wheel wells. I may be looking to downsize at some point.

The wheels are an Ultra Motorsport 178 Mongoose found here: http://www.ultrawheel.com/ultra-whee...=6179&cat=1140

1st off, I just saw your in Kalispell! Haha not many of us Montanans here but I am in Missoula- Someday we might have to go do a trail (though the Montana section of this forum is dead) There is a great 4x4 group here that published the "trails of Montana" book. There are based in Missoula but go all over the state.

It sounds like you already did your research. SYE is certainly a must. As is $$ unfortunately.

And yea since getting out of the Army (stationed in LA.. no real mudflap laws) I have been pulled over 3 times in Missoula for my lack of mudflaps. 21 inches of tire max. So far I have yet to get a ticket for it but once I do Ill rig some up. They just look so awkward on an XJ.
