Default Hi! New here from Atlanta GA

Hi my name is Rayna, I've had my 1991 jeep cherokee for 5 years and love it. It's been everywhere and unfortunately after 380,000 mile the engine has a rod knock. I'm not sure where to go from here. I'm guessing its a rod bearing that went bad. I thought I would join this site to see if I could get more info on what to do. Also want to do a few mods to it since its bone stock. (yes even the transmission has 380,000 miles on it and its still goign strong) I'm hoping to get to know you guys and learn more abou these kick *** vehicles

Hi Rayna! I'm from Atlanta too. As a matter of fact, I think I know you. I think I know you really well.

380,000m - that's amazing. So hopefully I might get just a few more trips out of my 'infant' 56,000 miler???

56,000? Its barely broken in! I was hoping to get to 400,000 before anythign happened but unfortunaly it didn't happen. I am wondering if its worth changing the rod bearing or throwing in a whole new engine in it. Any ideas?

You sure can! I NEVER had a problem with the engine at all up until this point. It has never been rebuilt and the only thing I have really replaced was a worn out tensioner at around 350,000 miles.
