Just passed a nice looking Cherokee on the road this AM with a sticker for this site and thought I would check it out On my 3rd Cherokee with a total 800K between the 3 of them

Thanks! Got some good info from here so far this AM..

First XJ was a 1989 - Father bought it new and gave it to me when I turned 16 - pretty much was stock other then a bora stainless exhaust system and headers and maybe somthing with the intake. I got it with 250K miles and put another 130K on it before I hit a tree in the woods and blew the motor in it.

Replaced that jeep with a 88 that I bought with 60K miles - thing was perfect - I added a 3 inch lift - home made rack - new bumpers and some 31 tires Drove it for 6 years ended up with around 280K miles on it then some dude ran into it in a parking lot?! His insurance cut me a nice check

Bought a brand new 99 Classic - pretty much stock to this day - 220K miles has a 1.5 inch lift on some bad looking tires - Just got a new set of wheels and some nice 30 inch tires ordered an a 2 inch lift to get me ready for winter then would like a new bumpers - rack - ect... Was going to buy a new car and have been saving up for a down payment but now decided to put that money back into my jeep - can't find anything new that i like as much as my XJ.

 

Yeah I know what you mean. Wife asked the other day if I wanted a new vehicle and I said yes a new Cherokee from China. She laughed and dropped the subject. Mine is 18 years old.

 

People get in my jeep and are amazed how good it looks inside and out and everything works - worsted case i will rebuild the motor/transmission and keep going.. And over hte last 20 years I have gotten really good at changing out crank senors

yellow - rack on top - pretty decked out - made me drool caught the sticker on the back window right window..

 

after a quick search - looks liek it was xjjeepthing's xj I saw.. very nice looking!
