Hey from Pensacola, FL
Hey I'm from Pensacola, Florida. I've been scouting around for a Cherokee to buy and I'm going to look at one tomorrow that I'll probably get if it looks good. Currently I'm driving an 89 Bronco. Hope to become a Jeep owner tomorrow.

Well looks like I won't be an owner today. Unfortunately it sold before I could get to it. Gotta find another one but it seems impossible to find them around here.

My budget is about 6000. But I'm willing to go a little higher for something of great quality. I'm looking for a 2000 or 2001 Cherokee. Saw some on Ebay that looked nice but I have a hard time going for something that I can't check out myself before buying.

How difficult is that to do exactly? I saw a nice 2wd one over in Mobile. I'm in the Navy as well so I can utilize the auto hobby shop. But I'll be honest I'm a bit of a novice mechanic.

i have not done the swap myself but sice u have the lift it will be pretty easy. the hardest part is if the bolts are rusted. other then that it is easy to do. there is alot of grunt work but it is not complected. i replaced my clutc my self on a 95 yj and to pull the tranny wasnt hard just heavy so it made it more fun t get it back in lol. but take the weekend and u will be fine. probaly will get it doen in a day if u start earaly.

I'm stationed here as an officer candidate seaman until I graduate next December. Then I head up to OCS in Newport, RI then back down to Pensacola for flight training.

I love that area around Pensacola, Destin, Panama City. Beaches are great. We have had a time share at PC for over 25 years.
Welcome to the forum, and thanks for your service! Hope you find yourself a great XJ.

Welcome to CF from Western Washington state. Sweet 91 you have there. I spent (2000-2002) in P-cola. It was a great time. Not much fun 4wheeling around there, though. Too much mud bogging for me.
